WEXHAM COURT PARISH COUNCIL

REPORT OF THE CHAIRMAN

COUNCILLOR HENRY EGAN

April 11th 2006

Since our last meeting in March 2006 I have the following matters to report:

1.      Vehicles for sale at Upton Lea shops: This has been improving over the past few weeks following action from Slough Borough Council’s Enforcement Officers.

2.      Tennis Courts: There have been a few incidents involving inappropriate behaviour in the tennis courts; one involved a resident and his children playing cricket and another involved some youths jumping on the nets.  These were dealt with by Councillor Davies and me.  There was also an issue with a resident taking dogs into the courts, and this has also been stopped.

3.      Estate Inspection: Councillor Davies, our Clerk and me carried out an estate inspection two weeks ago, during which we made notes of damaged verges, abandoned/untaxed cars, and other issues.  These have all been reported.  In addition we also inspected the garage areas, The Cherries play area, and the rear of the shops in Knolton Way.

4.      Parish Hall Roof:  Renovation of the roof has now been completed.  There were a couple of issues with local kids messing around and trying to climb on the scaffolding, but they were warned off and there have been no further problems.  I would like to thank the Clerk for liaising with the contractors and making the necessary arrangements to enable this work to proceed with minimal disruption to the use of the hall.

5.      Skips at Quinbrookes: The issue of the skips in the gardens of two houses in Quinbrookes were looked at during the estate inspection.  Councillor Davies and I spoke with the residents with regard to them being removed.  One of the skips has now been removed and the other house owner has been ordered to remove the skip or face fines.  I would like to thank Councillor MacIsaac and our Clerk for their efforts in ensuring action was taken to resolve this matter.

6.      Parking area in Norway Drive:  SBC have been contacted by our Clerk regarding the sweeping of the parking area between 2-10 Norway Drive following reports from residents that this has not been done for some time.  We are awaiting a response from SBC.
